Official visit of the Government of the Azores to Madeira

On the first day of the official visit of the Governement of the Azores, M-ITI and the University of Madeira were part of the set of visits of the official agenda. The visit to Madeira’s several institutions, associations and business entities will last until January 25.

 President of Portugal

The President of the Portuguese Republic, Professor Dr. Aníbal Cavaco Silva, made an official visit to M-ITI, together with the president of the Regional Government, Dr. Miguel Albuquerque, other members of the government, the Rector of University of Madeira, Professor José Carmo, and several other high profile personalities 17 November of 2015.

The visitors were received with a performance of Tuna D’Elas academic band, before proceeding to the presentations of neuroRehab Lab’  RehabCity project; product line developed with partner FactorEnergia; partner CGI’s Design Lab; SmartSolar project; PRSMA spinoff;  SINAIS project; 3D Vision project with partner Awaiba; and the ERAChair laboratory.

Advisory Board

M-ITI hosted its Advisory Board meeting on July 3-4 2017. During these two intensive days, the Advisory board members: Don Norman, the director of The Design Lab at University of California (USA), Lucy Suchman, Professor at Lancaster University (UK), and invited partners Rachel Smith, Professor at Aarhus University (Denmark) and Yvonne Rogers, the director of the Interaction Centre at University College London (UK), met with our faculty and researchers to learn about M-ITI’s progress in the last two years and future plans. AB experts also checked M-ITI project’s developments and learned about our new projects, in a demo session. The event ended with an informal dinner in our garden, gathering all our community and the Advisory Board experts.

Chinese Mari-Culture Delegation

On March 28 2018, a chinese delegation on marine-culture visited M-iti, passing by the CTP lab to see what projects are being developed and what collaboration we have with the oceanic observatory of Madeira.
